There are many programs to help make a solar investment affordable to income-qualified homeowners, but there are still two significant barriers to entry for this population.  - Installing solar takes upfront cash - Receiving the 30% federal tax credit require a tax liability The Solstice Project is in a unique position to be able to tie all of the pieces together and make solar a reality for income-qualified individuals. People who qualify for a range of income-qualified programs can participate in Solstice, including - Habitat for Humanity candidates - Section 8 Housing Choice voucher residents - Low Income Home Energy Assistance designees - Community Land Trust homeowners - Weatherization Assistance Program participants - WIC households - SNAP recipients - Medical Assistance beneficiaries Additionally, the property must be located within the service area of the program, though other locations may be considered case-by-case.
